Spiritual Initiation through the Heart
Many spiritual teachings point toward the importance of opening our heart. Those of us that have been following a spiritual path for some time may have already opened our heart greatly. However, new potential is now possible as the heart center has assumed the central role in the development of human consciousness.
As a result, we may currently find that more is coming up from previously unconscious levels, for us to resolve. If so, these are potential spiritual initiations. That means that successfully meeting them will produce lasting and positive change in our energy field, raise our vibration, and have beneficial effects on some area of our life. While a current situation may involve a specific part of life (and a dominant chakra in the human energy system), it always involves our heart as well.
In human life, we all appear as actors in each other’s life dramas, but our spiritual essence is eternal. Evolution requires us to integrate both our human experience and our spiritual awareness. We came into human life to learn through certain experiences, and so we cannot skip over them. The more challenging ones are rocket fuel for our evolution! I’ve been through some of these passages in my journey, some deeper than others. Is the result worthwhile? Absolutely, a million times over!
Working through the stages
Some of what human beings experience through the body is far from ideal. One of the human emotions that can be triggered by them is anger. Anger is a sentinel, to show us when healthy boundaries have been crossed. Recognizing it’s messages and taking appropriate action leads to important corrections, that are part of skillful survival and self-care.
Some life events, especially those that occurred in childhood, might have produced a great deal of anger, without a commensurate ability to act in our own best interest. As a result, our essential capacity for anger can go out of balance, being easily triggered – or suppressed – in adulthood. We rarely had great models to learn about healthy anger, but we can change the patterns that don’t work.
When we carry them overly long, traumas, hurts, betrayals and disappointments create unconscious armoring around our heart. When our heart isn’t open, all of life can take on a gray cast, or become filled with conflict. Eventually, this is taxing to our physical heart. We may not realize that the source of many conflicts can be resolved within.
The first step to work with something challenging is to notice we don’t feel peaceful and decide to take responsibility for our part. This is a self-loving act that benefits us. Next we need to feel whatever human feelings are associated with it, from a part of us that can simply Observe, not judge ourselves for having the feelings. We can sit with the feeling, name it, journal about it or talk it out with a professional.
If the feeling is strong enough, we may also need to discharge it through some activity that isn’t harmful to us or others. Doing something vigorous, such as dancing wildly, hiking up a mountain, consciously shaking head to toe, screaming in the wilderness where we won’t disturb anyone, cleaning out the garage, dumping or burning things, or art therapy are among many classic approaches. I’ve found each of them helpful at times.
The last stage of resolution for our challenges is forgiveness. Moving to forgiveness too soon, without feeling the feelings won’t work. After the feelings, forgiveness helps us release whatever triggered them through contact with some higher spiritual agency. (Angels and Ascended Masters, higher Self, Spirit or divine Source, however you choose to name this.)
As this contact occurs, we not only gain a higher perspective on the life event, but our energy body releases all the “static” left over from the event, realigning with the higher spiritual “template” of our Being. At the Ultimate level, our divine essence cannot be changed in any way, by anything we experience in human life. Returning our heart to peace is a result of successful work.
After a heart-initiation, what is possible?
Part of the hearts new potential includes an enhanced ability to experience the Ascended Masters and angels who are met in realms where only love exists. In recent weeks I have been reaching out to them using the specific symbols they have given me, that are described in Doors to Higher Consciousness. They have responded in depth, teaching me more about how our heart functions as the portal to meet higher spiritual awareness. I will share a few angelic examples .
Angel Haniel connects us to some of the higher energy centers, connecting the pineal gland in our head, with our heart, facilitating the experience of divine Grace. Grace allows us to feel the love of God, within the dense vibration of collective humankind. When spiritual vision opens Haniel helps us catch a glimpse of the Merkabah levels of transpersonal energy that disappear upwards over our physical head, connecting us eternally to our Source. This blessing provides an unforgettable experience that we are more than a personality identity in a physical body. As evolution unfolds she helps us build what is called the Light Body, or in some traditions the Rainbow Body, which is the vehicle for Ascension, allowing us to join the Masters at the end of physical life.
When love partners choose to commit to what A Course in Miracles calls a Holy Relationship a sacred journey begins, with Haniel one of its guides. If followed to completion, it carries the partners past every romantic notion, through intense times of conflicting egos, toward the Source of Love Itself. When we turn to the divine to receive Love directly, this unburdens the human relationship with our physical partner. Both hearts are carried toward eternal Identity, which transcends the physical life of them both. They can experience that Love remains, when one or the other lays the body down at the end of human life.
Angel Sarindel, works from the 7th Dimension, anchored in White Light, where divine inspiration is extended toward earthly manifestation. Awareness of the Love of Creator is profound when she is present in consciousness. She showed me how the energy of Creation can only take on forms as it comes through a human heart, manifesting as beauty, abundance, health, wealth and all artistic expressions that uplift the human spirit.
Angel Gadiel is an archangel (5th Dimension) who works with that same energy, at a level closer to human life. He helps us manifest something wonderful from those lofty heights of inspiration and bring it into a concrete earthly form. He is very grounded and strong, a powerful ally to have beside us to bring material abundance into our life.
Angel Uzziel is a Seventh-Dimension angel, who extends energy at the spiritual level of the 8th chakra. His pale pastel-blue, spiritually-electric flame extends down through some higher layers of the energy field to surround the heart with a wave of spiritual love. It feels wonderful! In the Qabalah, he shares the Hidden Path of the Blue Ray with Mary, the Blessed Mother. Anchored in this light, our heart is spiritually protected. If we are healing one of the profound hurts that challenged us in life, or if our work is to assist another with that kind of process, his energy helps us hold our spiritual center.
Claiming the highest levels of your heart
Each of the angels – and all the Ascended Masters – make it clear that whatever divine vibration they extend, requires the full capacity of our heart to bring their blessings into our life. Like many people, I can look back and appreciate how much spiritual practice has helped me open my heart. It wasn’t always easy to do but it made such a difference in all of life that I became willing to keep on forgiving, whenever it’s needed.
Eventually the simple but profound guidance came “Forgive whatever doesn’t appear as love, because only love exists in Truth.” Meeting any of the angels and Masters in personal experience one finds evidence that this is so. It’s worth humbly asking again if there is something to clear that will allow your heart to open even more widely. It is an ongoing practice for me, especially in these demanding times.. Bring your attention to your heart and Ask. May your efforts be met by Grace, blessing you in profound ways, as you enter the higher chambers of your Heart.

– access your inner reservoir of gratitude and joy!
Thanks for these divine words, Sheri. These are truly some of the most challenging times in our lives on many different levels that I have experienced. We are dealing with all of those feelings of misunderstandings, misinformation statements, lashing out and name-calling, throwing out and disseminating unfounded accusations, and mislabeling someone or a group of persons without foundation—and I could go on and on. I have never experienced this degree of accusations, denigration, and unfounded attacks on a specific person and/or a group of persons in my life. It truly has affected my life and demeanor in many ways, and probably in ways I’m not even able to identify. As I’m experiencing these kinds of unnatural feelings and observations in myself and others, it truly helps to lead me into a state of mind, body, and soul that I’m not comfortable with. And I find myself trying to find internal ways and means to deal with this as much as possible.

Jim, I believe you have expressed the frustration that many feel at this time. And yet, Love IS. On the higher realms there is ONLY love. Turning within to anchor in that, makes a huge difference when we do that. I respect the effort that so many people make, to share beauty, humor and positive things. We are all needed to lift the vibration at this time, and we will do that together, one day at a time – first within our own heart and mind. Thank you for being so committed to the journey.
